I normally stay here on a monthly basis for work on the mine. Since Uncle Mike has been here the conditions of the roads have improved remarkably and are actually drivable for the first time.

At first we were hot and sick and not happy and because we arrived after sun set. But the next day at sun rise, our idea changed completely. It is a very nice place in midst the S.A. nature. Nightjar is fantatsic and food as well as hosts are good and friendly/helpful. Thank for the nice days.

Visit was so lovely, the beauty of the nature is maintained well. The mind can be de-stressed by the sound of the songs of the birds, the valley wind, the Mutale river sound and sounds of animals at the Kruger Game Reserve nearby. Staff members were very much kind and the food was so delicious:

We arrived late afternoon and were greeted by the manager of the establishment. After sorting out the invoice we were shown to our chalet on stilts by the river, the shower and loo are outside. Everything was clean and well thought out.What a lovely setting. We were invited to join them in the bar later and though they were not aware we needed supper they did a fine job in the circumstances considering that they are so far from a main centre. Our next night they did a potjie that was really yummy.We enjoyed our two night stay. The food is good and the staff welcoming and friendly. The camp is really rustic and not for those that need electricity and hairdryers!! If you don't mind ruffing it this camp is right next to the Pafuri gate to Kruger. Must be the closest to any of the gates. Great if you can't get a booking in the park.

Back in the office today and Pafuri Rivercamp seems a distant universe away.
Thanks for another wonderful night in the comfort of your camp, an
experience in solitude that will be long remembered. Thanks also to the
elephants who visited the river just after midnight and who, although
staying just beyond the reach of my torch beam, certainly made their
presence known.
The delight of being visited by a hippo at around 04:30 paled into
insignificance as the dawn announced the arrival of the day I could finally
fetch Jaccy back from Eco Training.
Please thank both Cos and Robert for their hospitality. We will certainly be
back.
